Barcode Mask, Product Group

This field contains a barcode mask for barcodes of items that belong to the product group.

A barcode mask is a collection of numbers and alphabetical letters that are replaced with numbers when the program generates the barcode from the Barcode No. field in the Barcode table. If numbers are included in the mask, they are not replaced.
When you assign a Product group to an item on the retail item card, the program copies this field into the Barcode Mask field in the Item table, but you can construct a different mask for the item.

Example:

LLL43IIIIICCM
This is an EAN standard barcode mask, including an EAN License No. (LLL), 5 item numbers (I), check digit (M) and two color digits (CC). It is sufficient to type in just the item number as barcode - 5 digits. the program constructs barcodes for all colors (if confirmed). If the barcode you type in is for example 23000 and the EAN license no. is 255, and there are three colors with number in barcode 01, 02 and 04, the program changes the barcode input and create three barcodes, 2554323000018, 2554323000021 and 2554323000042.

IIIISZZ04
This is not an EAN standard mask. It includes 4 item numbers (I), one style digit (S) and two size digits (ZZ), ending on a fixed number, 04. It is insufficient to type in just the 4 item number as barcode. the program constructs barcodes for all style and size combinations.
