A check mark in this field indicates that the system will only use two Shortcut Dimensions; that is Global Dimension 1 and Global Dimension 2. This allows the system to optimize the use of dimensions in working documents, namely unposted sales and purchase documents. The system will only hold dimension values in the primary tables, that is will not create records in the extra dimension tables. At posting the system will create posted extra dimension records based on the values in the primary tables. This can therefore be used to minimise locking on dimension tables when working with sales and purchase documents and get the same (standard) result when documents are posted. This function is only valid if the system (General Ledger) is set up to use two dimensions.
